Captured, Framed and Judged

There aren't that many travel related reality TV shows out there. The ones that I know of are the likes of "The Amazing Race" and perhaps "Survivor". And then I learnt there is another travel related TV show that not only showcases countries they've visited, they also help educate the viewers on how to get the best shot. Shot? I mean photo shots. :)

I was invited to attend this launch of a reality show called Photo Face-Off season 2, coming to HISTORY Asia starting Tuesday, 22 September 2015 at 10pm (tomorrow)!. After declining many event and sponsored trips before this, I suddenly decided to attend this one after a long absence from the blogger event scene.

At the event I get to meet Azril Azam, Ignitius Kong, Desmond Teoh and Pro Photographer Justin Mott who spoke to the media during this launch of Photo Face-Off Season 2. I honestly didn't watch the first season as I have no TV at home (opps) but the promotional videos looks awesome!

Three contestants from Malaysia :
Here are the personal biodata of the three contestants who will battle to the finish in this year's season two. Only one will move forward to  compete with winning contestants from Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore.

He is a simple person who loves making photographs and spending time with my wife and son. He is fortunate to be able to spend a good amount of time on personal projects, travelling and meeting awesome people. He loves telling stories through my photographs whenever he has the opportunity to travel or capturing everlasting moments during weddings.

2. Azril Azam

Azril with one example of his photography work.
Azril Azam is a 39 years old school tech dude from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is an experience software engineer with various industries certifications and also an award winning armature photographer. His favorite style would be fine art street action adventure photography. Since his work as software engineer requires him to travel around the world, photography has become his best interest to capture the different sides of the world on culture, people, places and rare moments. He begins his world of digital photography since 1997 and finally bought an EOS 5DMkII in 2010. Currently he loves to do photography using his EOS 5DMkIII & EOS 7DMkII that he won in the last Canon Photomarathon KL 2013 and Canon Photomarathon Singapore 2014 respectively.

3. Teoh Chong Zen (Desmond)

Age: 25

Teoh Chong Zen, also known as Desmond, spent his growing years in Malaysia. He is currently working as an advertising executive. His interest in photography started when he was younger and would often take photos using his mom’s camera. His passion was fueled later on in 2011 during one of his photography subjects in college, where he met an inspiring lecturer who took the time to share his photography knowledge and support Desmond’s journey in picking up this creative skill. Desmond currently uses a Canon EOS 60D and enjoys capturing moments that tell a story behind every photo. As he says, “Photos are our memories and we should treasure them, because beautiful memories only happen once in our lifetime.”

I am wishing all the contestants good luck in this competition and may the best photographer win!

So guys!!! Do watch this airing this week on Tuesday night! You might learn a thing or two on photography.
