Keeping My Bones Healthy With #FernleafUHT

I am a woman in her thirties, trying to keep fit and healthy so that I can continue doing things I love best which are hiking, travelling and running marathons. In order to do that I stick to a strict daily intake of enough vegetables, fruits and MILK!

Women at my age have the tendency to get osteoporosis, a bone disease caused by lack of two essential minerals which are calcium and phosphate. Studies suggest that approximately one in two women and up to one in four men age 50 and older will break a bone due to osteoporosis. Being a shy over 10 years before I reach 50 years old, this could be a nightmare!

I continue to hike, to run and do exercises that's best to promote bone density as to avoid osteoporosis. But the most important key ingredient of this health regime is that every morning before I start the day, I drink Fernleaf UHT milk which contains the calcium needed. :)

Never forget a Fernleaf UHT milk to start the day!
Why did I choose Fernleaf UHT milk among all the other milk brands in the market?

A Cat Named Toby

To be honest, I'm not exactly a cat lover. The cat lovers of my family are usually my sister, Dr. Zeneria who would whole-heartedly nurse a sick cat to life and my youngest sister, Zasmin. Me? I accidentally killed a kitten while backing up my car at the office. It wasn't my most fondest memory but it has haunted me until this very day. So I took to only enjoying funny animal pictures and videos from the safety of my handphone/PC screen. I never dreamed of actually taking care of them. Haha.

So what happened?

A trip to a household who has 8 cats happened. I fell in love with an orange-eyed furball named Cha-cha among his 8 cats. From that day onwards I kinda kept nagging the owner to give it to me. And to my utter astonishment, he finally agreed!

But then, the cat died and I was given another cat named Toby and the rest is history. :)

My Centara Experience at Hat Yai Thailand

I just received a formal letter from my office stating that I would be transferred to another unit by mid-August and I thought I badly needed a short vacation to recharge before starting at a new unit! Fortunately for me, AirAsia was having its monthly promotions and I decided to spend a weekend in Hat Yai, Thailand. Being among top travel destinations for Malaysians due to its vast transport options and cheaper money value, Hat Yai would never disappoint.

Centara Hotel Hat Yai in the heart of Hat Yai.

I planned before arriving by booking a two-night stay at Centara Hotel Hat Yai. Chosen because it is strategically located in the heart of Hat Yai and just steps to many shopping complexes. Reservations could be done here. That said, I also wanted to immerse myself in the only (yes, the only!) 4-star experience at Centara Hotel Hat Yai. Their newly renovated guest rooms and suites boast luxury amenities, complimentary Wi-Fi, marble bathrooms, spacious living areas and plush bedding. With specialty restaurants for dining and to chill out, a comprehensive fitness gym, a lounging pool, plus a rejuvenating Spa! I wanted to try them all! A whole new level of experience awaits to be discovered!

Krabi Trip Part 1 : Sugar Marina Resort Cliffhanger @ Aonang

My housemates and I secured three return flight tickets to Krabi from Kuala Lumpur during the month of Ramadhan. We booked a two nights hotel stay at the newly renovated  Sugar Marina Resort located near Aonang Beach. And it was also close to a nearby mosque and many Halal eateries just a mere walking distance away.

We selected the Superior Pool Access Room located on the ground floor and had access to the outdoor pool via the outdoor patio. As an only girls trip, we delighted ourselves with a swim during the mornings and night time when there were lesser crowds. ☺

A view from our patio. All hotel pictures are from Agoda and 100% accurate.

Lessons From My Travelmates - Part 1

Hello there again readers! Looks like I still have a few. Thankyou for your lovely comments on comeback post two days ago. Today I want to share on lessons I've learnt from my various travel mates. Throughout my not-so-famous years of traveling, I'm blessed to be be given the experience of travelling solo, with a partner and then in groups of 4 to 40 people!

But am gonna blog on the people I've grown close to during my travels and what they taught me in the process. ☺

1. The Art of Backpacking from Rayyan Haries

I last met him in 2012, when I was a rising travel blogger. I just won an award in travel blogging and was enjoying its rewards in the form of free familiarization trips by various tourism boards, free food/buffet reviews and VIP invites to media events. We first met during a food review at G-Tower, Kuala Lumpur. Rayyan himself was an active blogger at that time who prides in backpacking solo to several Asian countries. I was at time still a newbie in terms of travelling and struck luck bagging an award while blogging about my recent travels to China. To be honest, it was only a travel package and I was restricted to the agent's schedule.

Rayyan and me during a trip to Kuantan, Pahang for a blogging event.
Rayyan on the other hand, was traveling alone with no clear plans whatsoever. I was dazed by his stories of backpacking through Thailand and some-how a plan between us was formed.

An Update On Me....

Hello readers of my blog... if I still have them.

How's life? What were you guys up to during the whole period I disappeared from the blogging world? Hehe.
Most recent picture of me, in case you guys are curious.

Me? A bit of travelling here and there (but mostly around Malaysia or maybe to Indonesia), a bit of running marathons and then there's hiking.

Oh... and I managed to gain back all the weight I lost a year ago. LOL.

Life accomplishments?

On a personal record, nothing that I can be proud of. But I guess I did manage to cross out some life goals that I listed down for myself in 2016 for 2017.

  1.  Buy a house
  2.  Salary reached RMXXXX
  3.  Started running a 10km marathon (well... I actually achieved in running a full 22km trail run under 6 hours.)
  4. Joined a Gym. (Well I did for awhile until I was ordered to move to Kajang in which my gym membership had to be revoked. So now am fat again. huhu)
  5. ❌ Hike once a month. I think I failed this in 2017 as I was having a mental breakdown after moving to Kajang. Hahaha.

All in all 2017 was good to me. Could have been better. But yeah... counting my blessings. So here's some pictures on my 2017 adventures for your viewing pleasure. Am sorry I had to private my instagram photos as I don't feel it relevant to share my life with just anyone anymore. I don't want to be a public figure. Haha #perasan

Adventures that I never wrote about.
Hopefully I blog on my personal life after this? :P
