Beijing Trip Day 1 - Makanan Halal @ Beijing

After all of us loaded onto the bus, bags and all, we then took a 2 hours and half ride to Beijing from TianJin for dinner and then go watch an Acrobatic Show (another entry, he he.)

Ms Fie!
I'd like to introduce my very cute travel buddy, Ms Fie from www.fie-nuts.com. We met during My Selangor Story 2011 competition and kinda kept in touch since then. She's a real gem and I appreciate her willingness to accompany me on this trip. Thankyou sooooooo very much! Hope to travel with you again. *gushes.

When we first reached Beijing (don't ask me about the scenic view during the ride as I was asleep the whole time! LOL), Ms Lili the tour guide, showed us some iconic buildings around the city. One was the underwear building (picture later) and others were political buildings.

The most important building for me for that particular moment was the one below.

Please tell me the name of this place! It's in Chinese!!!
I have no idea what's the name of this restaurant. The 'kind' folks of Beijing seemed to like visitors to learn the Chinese language/writings beforehand. Or maybe they simply don't want us to remember the place's name? LOL. This place is supposedly HALAL. I found some arabic writings in the restaurant... but...

...the interior looks pretty much Chinese to me here. Hehehe.
We headed upstairs to a table fit for 12 people. It seems the culture here is eating by servings and dishes (secara hidang).

And they use tin kettles to serve tasteless tea or warm boiled water.
Another thing I noticed was that the drinking cups were TINY!!! At least they prepared spoons and forks for us instead of chopsticks. That'd be certainly a struggle to use. =)

Have to mention that there'll be fried eggs every-time we dine.
The round object above tasted like Hash Brownies of McDonald's though. And I believe that the dish on the right side is fried prawns. So far, no weird food yet. He he he.

Bon apetite!
We dined, we stopped for prayers and then went to watch an Acrobatic Show at 730pm, showcased by the very talented children of China (next entry). This entry will be the only entry on food since the menu is pretty much the same throughout the whole trip. Got bored with the menu by the second day... he he he. Gosh... starting to miss McDonalds. Opppss!

Till then, thankyou for reading!
