HALAL Chinese Food @ Tung Yuen Chinese Restaurant, Grand BlueWave Hotel Shah Alam

"Hey, wanna meet up for some Chinese Food?"
"Is it Halal?"
"Why, of course, if not why'd I ask you in the first place"
"Nay, I'll pass. Sorry."
" -----------"

I always face this kind of scenario when concerning most of my Muslim friends. It's either they'll always be in doubt of the halal authenticity of the food or just don't like Chinese food. Either way, it's really a great loss to them.

What's not to like about Chinese food? It's healthy and speaks volumes of oriental culture. (I'm putting "words" here that I myself not sure if it means well, haha!)

Well, fear no more, I'm glad that more Chinese food based restaurants are putting in effort to gain the Halal certificate. And mind you, that's not an easy task. Now, muslims everywhere can be rest assured that Tuen Yuen Chinese Restaurant inGrand Bluewave Hotel Shah Alam is Halal certified. Hurrayy!!! ^__^

Taking on the buffet theme, this restuarant is now offering the All You Can Eat "Claypot & Sizzling" buffet! This special offer is held throughout the month of October and November seven days a week during lunch and dinner which will spoil you with choices of claypot and sizzling dishes together with selections of dim sum, soups, noodles, rice, meat dishes and desserts.

The best thing is, ALL dishes are HALAL and cooked  (yes, cooked not heated!) upon order so all diners will get to enjoy fresh and steaming hot delicacies.

Chinese Cuisine Chef Patrick Ng has prepared us quite a wonderful dining experience with his seven recipes of claypots and seven different sizzling dishes.

All dishes are prepared by Chef Patrick Ng, who has more than 20 years of cooking experience.

Lo and behold, below are some close-ups of the dishes being presented that night.

Prepared with perfection!
Clockwise from upper left (big pictures) : Fish Soup with Pepper and Herbs, Stir Fried Chicken with Dried Chilli and Onion, Pan Fried Prawn with Glass Noodle and Roast Garlic in Claypot. and Pan Fried Lamb Chop with Coffee Sauce.

Thailand Trip Day 6 - Into Bangkok

Into Day 6 of our trip in Thailand. We never did expect to stay two nights in Ayuthayya. There was something about Ayuthayya that made us want to stay a bit longer. Maybe because we felt welcomed here? Or maybe because the lodging and food were very cheap!

But sadly, we had to leave for Bangkok. And besides, my friend is waiting for me there. ^__^

We packed up our stuff, shared a tuk-tuk from the guesthouse to the train station and planned to share rooms in Bangkok. I'll be pairing with Carmen and Rayyan will be pairing with Masaya. Saves a lot on our budget as staying in Bangkok is never cheap.

We (note their HUGE backpacks) were heading to the ticket counter of Ayuthayya's train station.
We came early but the only train to Bangkok was hours away. Huhu. So we ended up staying at the station for a long while. (Down the drain goes my plan to explore Bangkok in the afternoon and time was running thin!)

Carmen says that everything in her bag is her lifetime supply of clothes. Hehe.
And so.... we waited for our train. Rayyan and Masaya went off to find a cyber cafe. Carmen went wandering to I don't know where while I stayed with the bags. =)

Thank god for the FAN! It was one hot day outside.
When we were on the train at last, there were no available seats and we ended up standing most of the time. Thankfully, we eventually found some empty seats half-way through the ride and boy, my back was already sore!!! *bertahanlah. Sejam je lagi, cetus hati kecilku!

And once we reached Bangkok, we yet again faced another problem  ~ looking for available hostels or hotels that can take all four of us. The first five or six hostels that we walked into were full until we set our eyes on the New Siam Hotel as pictured below.

Our savior! And thankfully cheap too! 370  Baht per twin sharing room!
You can imagine how relieved my room-mate and I were when we finally got a room!!! We practically jumped on the bed! Haha!

Relieved!
Rayyan and I decided to find some vegetation Pad Thai from the streets before meeting up with my friend whose coming at 8 pm. Pad Thai js a famous Thai dish here and Rayyan was very keen on me trying it. On our way we chanced upon a Muslim seller who gave Salam to us. This seller also helped tell us when it was OK to break fast. Thanks kind sir!

We break our fast with vegetarian Pad Thai that night as seen on the bottom right picture.. =)
Sure enough, Pad Thai was delicious!!!

After having our fill, we headed back to the hotel and waited for my dear friend to fetch us.

This was when I got nervous... *blushes.

Halal Food in Ayuthayya's Night Market are the BEST

Updating on a Sunday when I feel the most laziest in the whole week. The day where I more seldom than not, wakes up late to the sun already streaming through my bedroom window. And also waking up thinking what to eat today. What a dilemma!

At times like this I remember my eating times overseas.

Thailand in particular for it's cheap, delicious food. Can buy up to 3 dishes under RM10!!!

Ayuthayya to be exact where I was accomappanied by friendly strangers who share only one thing in common...

.... the love for travel and adventure. A way to be a kid again where we are prone to new discoveries.

I go back to that day where we four were at a table, some where at a night market in Ayuthayya, waiting for the sun to go down so that Rayyan and I can break our fast. We were fasting for 5 days already and still going strong. Masaya and Ayako whom we hardly knew were sharing their adventure stories and we talked a lot despite the language barrier.

The happy eating days. Hehe.
You can get a lot of selections in the night market. How wish I know the names of the food I've eaten.

Let's go through the foods I've tasted in Ayuthayya. ^___^

My favorite food in Thailand. Apart from the juice drinks though. Sweet!!!
The one belowis like Roti Canai Banana sipped in chocolate syrup. Hehe.
Mataba Banana + Chocolate = 30 Baht
And this is fried chicken. The only stall there that sell these.
Buy these and rice separately. Nice!
And these below were our meal on the second day. Here's mine, chosen by Rayyan as I didn't know what to eat.
Some kind of Thai mee. Hehe. Delicious!!!
And this one was Rayyan's meal.
It looks like Tom Yam soup to me. Hehehe. Hot and spicy!!
And there were some extras too. I think some sushi perhaps? Have forgotten already but am sure Rayyan knows the name of the food. =p

Ahhh... I'm missing Thai food!!!
